REFLECTION ON MOVIE MAKER

For this portfolio I created a movie based on nutrition using Windows Movie Maker. This was quite interesting though I found that it was rather similar to using PowerPoint with a few differences here and there. I also found that, quite similar to using a PowerPoint presentation, the Movie Maker can be used to introduce or develop a lesson, to reinforce a lesson previously taught (e.g. providing information for homework assignments or studying) or to encourage and motivate pupils (creating videos showing pupil’s best works or presentation then posting this on the class blog or wiki or having the class with it at school. In creating this movie I encountered very few challenges. I found that it is a rather user-friendly tool which most may find simple to follow. However, in trying to embed the movie into my blog some problems were encountered: try as I may it just would NOT work. Finally based on a suggestion made by someone else I was able to successfully embed it into my blog. This was done by simply uploading my video into Youtube and then embedding it via Youtube into my blog. (Finally SUCCESS!!) With great excitement I viewed my movie on Youtube and found that possibly more slides could have been used for the time as well as the font colour could be improved upon. I look forward to using Movie Maker to enhance my class.
